• Push the brake pedal to stop the vehicle and keep
It from rolling backwards. Also, apply Ihe parking
brake,
• If your engine js $lltl running,
shift the
Iransmissien
to REVERSE {R), release the parking braka, and
stQwly back down the hJH In REVERSE {R).
• If your engine has slopped rur^ning, you'll need to
reslail it. With the brake pedal prsssad and the
parking brake sttN applied, shift The transmission to
PARK {or shift to neutral if your vehicle has
a manual transmis^km) and reslarl the engine.
Then, shift to REVERSE (R), release the parking
brake, end slowiy back down Ihe hill as straight as
possible in REVERSE (R}.

on the steenng wheet at the 12 o'clock position.
