Sensor signals

Sensor signals for this activity are only available from the following conditioners: Models 493.21B and
493.25 conditioners and Models 494.25, 494.26, and 494.16 conditioners whose HWI settings are configured
for high-speed data.

Important:

When designing a test procedure, do not try to collect data on the same signal with more than one
High-Speed DAQ activity at the same time. Concurrent High-Speed DAQ activities that collect
data on the same signal will not operate properly.

Sample rates

When you define a High-Speed DAQ activity, you must define the time between samples, or the sample
rate. This determines how the activity acquires data when it is active.

You can acquire data at periodic intervals.

You can specify how many samples are taken, and when the samples are acquired.

If a number of samples is not specified, samples are taken as long as the activity is active.

Sample rate and sampling duration limitations

The actual sample duration (and number of points acquired) is limited by the processor speed, the number
of signals being sampled, the number and type of other processes running concurrently, and so forth. If
the application cannot store data as fast as it is acquired, an acquisition overrun occurs, and the test stops.
Data acquired up to that point is saved.

Note:

If an acquisition overrun occurs, the test can be resumed.

Warning

:

An incorrect .hwi file can result in an improper system response.

An improper system response may include unexpected actuator movement which can result
in personal injury or specimen damage.

Ensure that you fully understand the ramifications of the changes you are making to the .hwi
file before modifying it.

Settings for FlexTest 40, 60, 100, 200

The High-Speed Data option for your inputs should be set to True.

When your system arrives, it should be configured for your testing needs. If not, contact your MTS Field
Service Engineer.

Settings for FlexTest GT, TestStar IIm, and other older hardware

The controller system rate should be 4096 or 6144 Hz.

When your system arrives, it should be configured for your testing needs. If not, contact your MTS Field
Service Engineer.
