If you want an operator to interactively monitor digital output during a test run, you can configure a Digital
IO test-run display.

Set Span and Setpoint Activity Overview

The Set Span and Setpoint activity is applicable only to MTS FlexTest controllers.
Set Span and Setpoint Activity Icon
The Set Span and Setpoint activity sets new values for the span and setpoint controls in the FlexTest
controller. The activity programmatically changes the span and setpoint values and is analogous to manually
adjusting the values with the station controls panel of the FlexTest controller. Span is a multiplier adjustment
on the command waveform. Setpoint is an offset adjustment on the command waveform. Use this activity
to control the amplitude of the command waveform based on a calculation or an operator input.
You can use this activity to set span and setpoint values once or continually. You can also use this activity
to safely initialize the setpoint and span values while preventing the actuator from moving (maintaining
command). The following configuration options are available for the Set Span and Setpoint activity:
• Monitor One Time
• Monitor Continuous
• Maintain command to prevent movement
Monitor One Time
One time Monitor immediately sets the specified setpoint and span in the controller and then closes. Use
the one time monitor option to set an initial value. You can place the activity within a While loop, along with
the calculation that generates the values sent to the controller.
