Specimen Geometry Manager
Specimen Geometry Manager Overview
The Specimen Geometry Manager window lists the geometries that are available. Several commonly-used
and predefined specimen geometries are supplied with the application. Use the Specimen Geometry
Manager to add new specimen geometries, edit existing specimen geometries, import and export specimen
geometries, copy existing specimen geometries, and delete specimen geometries.
Add, copy, view, edit
Specimen geometries that are supplied with the application (Type is Predefined) can only be viewed and
cannot be edited or deleted.
You can add new custom specimen geometries, or you can copy any specimen geometry (including
predefined), and then change it to meet your test requirements.
When you add, copy, view, or edit a specimen geometry, the Specimen Geometry Editor window is
displayed. The Specimen Geometry Editor window is where you view or edit the properties for the specimen
geometry. Any specimen geometry that was added or copied can be edited or deleted.
Domain
The Specimen Geometry Manager window displays all of the specimen geometries and the domains to
which they are assigned. You can use domains to group similar specimen geometries together. For example,
if you assign all tire specimen geometries to the "Tire" domain, it will be easier to find and edit all of your
tire specimen geometries in the future. Using the Specimen Geometry Editor, you can change the domain
to which a specimen geometry is assigned.
Entry sorting
The entries presented in the Specimen Geometry Manager window can be sorted based on any of the
column headings. Click on the column heading to rearrange the rows. Click again to reverse the order
based on the same column.
Export
The export option provides a way to transfer specimen geometry definitions between workstations. When
you export a specimen geometry, you can choose the domain(s) and specific geometries to include. You
can export user-defined geometries. Export files are automatically given the .tsgeom file name extension.
Import
You can import specimen geometry definitions from previously exported files. When you import a specimen
geometry, you can choose the domain(s) and specific geometries to include. You can import user-defined
geometries. Export files have a .tsgeom file name extension.
