specified LDAP directory when the user tries to login. Note that Digital StoreFront does not use the
Digital StoreFront User Name the user enters to authenticate with. It uses only the ‘LDAP name’
value that is associated with the Digital StoreFront profile and the password of the person logging in.
Self Registration
●
Self registration can be enabled to allow site visitors to create a user profile themselves. Note that
users must be able to provide their LDAP name and password when signing up as a new user.
How do you maintain it?
New customers are either imported or self registered.
Directory Services Authentication Workflows
Two Internal Workflows
Digital StoreFront uses two internal workflows to support Directory Services Authentication. The choice
of workflow is based on the type of service desired. Whenever Digital StoreFront is installed, the LDAP
server must give access rights to the server that Digital StoreFront is located on.
Port 389 is required when communicating with an LDAP server.
LDAP/ADSI
When the service type is set to LDAP or ADSI, Digital StoreFront uses the Microsoft-provided .Net Active
Directory service provider found in the System.DirectoryServices namespace to communicate with the
directory service provider.
