Tax Configuration
Overview of the Taxation Model
Two panels in the system allow administrators to control how taxes are applied to orders.
●
Tax Authorities:
Specifies the information that the system requires to levy a particular tax. A tax
authority can be a local, county, or state tax. (You are strongly advised to separate taxes into their
underlying components and enter these as separate authorities. This minimizes the number of
changes required when tax rates change and allows for more detailed reports.)
●
Tax Authority Groups:
Specifies valid configurations of specific tax authorities, such as state and
local taxes that are to be used together. All orders are assigned a particular tax authority group,
ensuring that each order has a valid combination of taxes. Additionally, each Print Shop is assigned a
tax authority group to use for all incoming jobs. These can be overridden in the Quote Editor for
each order.
●
Settings:
This is where you can integrate Digital StoreFront with an external tax system such as CCH
or Vertex.
