IMPORTANT: Make sure your Extra IP is in the same subnet as your Redundancy Group

servers

• If you configure an Extra IP but not configure in the same subnet as the

Application Servers belonging to your Redundancy Group, subsequent
tasks like Reverse Takeover can only be done on a laptop connected by
crossover cable directly to the Backup.

• If you do not configure an Extra IP and your factory default is not in the

same subnet as the other Application Servers, the same behavior as that
stated above occurs.

IMPORTANT: No redundancy if Main Application Server is not configured

Even if a Backup Application Server has been added to a Redundancy Group,
there is no redundancy if a Main has not yet been added to the group as well.
That is, without a Main Application Server, there is no Application Server to
backup. To add a Main Application Server to your group, see

"Adding an

Application Server to a Redundancy Group"

, on page 596.

Note: The Web page, above, represents the Redundancy Configuration Form as
it appears if there is one Application Server with a role of Main. If the Application
Server already belonging to the Redundancy Group has a Backup role, the one
Application Server is displayed in the Backup area of the form.
