Counting continuously

Lower counting limit −2 147 483 648 (−2 31 )
Upper counting limit +2 147 483 647 (2 31 −1)
Function:
ƒ For starting the counting process the internal gate has to be opened.
– The counter counts from the loading value in the counting range.
– If the counter reaches the upper counting limit when counting forwards, and if a
further count pulse in positive direction occurs, the counter skips to the lower
counting limit and continues to count from there.
– If the counter reaches the lower counting limit when counting backwards, and if a
further negative count pulse occurs, the counter skips to the upper counting limit
and continues to count from there.
– If maximum values are exceeded or minimum values are not reached, the status
bits STS_OFLW or STS_UFLW are set. These bits remain set until they are reset with
RES_SET in the control word. If enabled, additionally a process alarm is triggered.
ƒ For stopping the counting process the internal gate has to be closed.
