DNS Client Commands

To return to the default behavior, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
ip domain timeout
seconds
no ip domain timeout
Parameters
seconds
—Time, in seconds, to wait for a response to a DNS query. The range
is from 1 to 60.
Default Configuration
The default value is 2 seconds.

User Guidelines
Use the command to change the default time out value. Use the no form of
this command to return to the default time out value.
Example
The following example shows how to configure the switch to wait 50 seconds
for a response to a DNS query:
console(config)# ip domain timeout 50
ip host
Use the ip host Global Configuration mode command to define the static
host name-to-address mapping in the DNS host name cache.
Use the no form of this command to remove the static host name-to-address
mapping.
