RDE (Rotating Disk Electrode)
RDE stands for Rotating Disk Electrode. It is the solid-state working
electrode in the electrochemical measurement. The RDE consists of a con-
ductive disk built in the front side of a cylindrical shaft that is made of an
insulating material such as polymer or glass. During the measurement the
RDE can be set into rotation by a rotation drive mechanism.
Recognition
Assignment of the evaluation quantity (peak area, peak height) to a sub-
stance.
Replication
In voltammetric measurements, all data recorded is stored in a data set.
The result variables belonging to a single voltammogram are unambigu-
ously distinguished by an index X for the variations (see Glossary, page
1059) and another index Y for the replications. Replication refers to an
identical repetition of a measurement.
Sample amount
Amount of sample for which the default results are to be calculated. The
sample amount can be entered as a volume or a weight or with any unit
(e.g. Number).
The sample amount is usually entered as a volume (in L, mL or µL) for the
brightener determination, and the result is calculated per L of bath
sample. The procedure for the determination and calculation depends on
whether undiluted or diluted samples are used.
