When compressed air is applied to port 4 of the proportional
directional control valve, the piston must retract, and the
mass load then moves to the right in the depiction shown
here (see Fig. A/25). When compressed air is applied to
portĂ2, the piston must advance, and the mass load then
moves to the left here.
