7.1.1 Parallel program processing
The SPC200 possesses amultitasking−capable operating sysĆ
tem. This can process two tasks parallel. For parallel procesĆ
sing two programs must be defined as starting programs.
These will then be processed parallel as task A and task B.
Accessed sub−programs are processed instead of the relevant
starting program, until the sub−program processing is comĆ
pleted and the starting program is continued.
The parallel program processing supports the low−cost impleĆ
mentation of two independent work stations with one
SPC200. Therefore certain I/O control signals (e.g. MC_A and
MC_B) and settings for positioning are managed task−specifiĆ
cally.
However, task A and task B provide together:
ć the control signals STOP, START/RESET, ENABLE and
READY
ć the freely programmable I/Os (only in Start/Stop mode)
ć the flags, registers and position registers
ć the positioning axes. They are each assigned during the
processing of a positioning command of the accessing
task.
