Time management with NETCONF overview

NTP parameters are defined in the brocade-ntp YANG module. Date and time parameters are
defined in the brocade-clock YANG module. For details, refer to the Network OS YANG Reference
Manual.
Date and time settings
Brocade switches maintain the current date and time inside a battery-backed real-time clock (RTC)
circuit. Date and time are used for logging events. Switch operation does not depend on the date
and time; a switch with incorrect date and time settings can function correctly. However, because
the date and time are used for logging, error detection, and troubleshooting, you should set them
correctly.
Setting the date and time
The
urn:brocade.com:mgmt:brocade-clock namespace. An active NTP server, if configured,
automatically updates and overrides the local clock time. Time values are limited to between
January 1, 1970 and January 19, 2038.
To set the date and time, perform the following steps.
