SNMP Requirements
SNMP Requirements
CLI commands must be used to configure the Access Navigator for SNMP operation. In particular, the
operator must set up the Ethernet port, SNMP community strings, and NMS IP addresses. (See CLI
Language Reference on
.) SNMP configuration includes the following items.
NOTE:
To provide secure access, community strings are required for SNMP
management, but can not be changed or displayed using SNMP set and get commands.
Access attempts using invalid community names will be trapped and reported to the NMS.
* Contact and location can be changed through objects in the standard SNMP System Group.
† NMS IP addresses can be changed through objects in the Carrier Access Enterprise MIB.
