NOTE:

Remote provisioning requires that the Adit 600 be pre-configured for IP DS0

management. The essential settings are listed in the Remote Adit IP DS0 Provisioning
Quick Guide
on

page 13-7

.

After configuring the Adit 600 for IP DS0 management, the remote terminal can be

accessed through the Access Navigator as described in the following steps.

Carrier Access IP DS0 management also allows remote provisioning via Telnet and

Carrier Access Valet™ and NetworkValet™ EMS software by using the IP address of the
remote Adit 600.

1. Start remote management session with Adit 600 terminal, where is the number of the Access

Navigator drop DS1 going to the terminal.

logon remote

2. When Adit 600 prompt appears, provision terminal using Adit 600 CLI commands (refer to Adit

600 User Manual.

3. When finished provisioning Adit 600 terminal, enter Ctrl+C to cancel the connection to the

remote terminal. The Access Navigator prompt will then appear.

4. Exit management session when finished.

Test DS1 and DS0 Circuits

NOTE:

The Adit 600 also supports remote testing of its network and subscriber

interfaces. See Adit 600 TDM User Manual.

NOTE:

The Access Navigator supports the following T1.403 loop tests:

• Responds to ESF bit patterned loop requests (when loopdetect is on)
• Generates ESF bit patterned loop requests
• Generates SF CSU inband loopcodes

NOTE:

The Access Navigator provides line and payload loopback commands for

troubleshooting line problems. See Diagnostics & Troubleshooting on

page 15-1

2. Follow standard practices to test DS0 connections, analog channels, and remote interfaces.
