Install Optional TFTP Server Software

You will need a TFTP server running on a computer on the Ethernet network. If you do not have a TFTP
server, you can use the Windows-based freeware program file called “tftpd32.zip”. You can download
this file from the Carrier Access Customer Support web site. To obtain information for logging into the
site’s Product Support section, please contact Carrier Access Customer Support at 800-786-9929.

1. Create a folder on your PC’s C: drive called “Access Navigator Backup”. This folder is where you

will keep all of your Access Navigator backup configurations.

2. Log into the Carrier Access Customer Support web site:

http://www.carrieraccess.com/support/index.cfm/fuseaction/login_form.htm

3. Double-click on the tftpd32.zip file you need to download and save it to the “Access Navigator

Backup” folder.

4. Unzip the tftpd32.zip file into the “Access Navigator Backup” folder.

5. After the files are unzipped, click on the tftpd32 application icon to start the TFTP server. Once this

server is running on the network, you will be ready to upload your configuration files to your PC.

6. Make sure the base directory of the TFTP server is the folder you created on the C drive called

“Access Navigator Backup”. This is where the TFTP server will store the backup files.

NOTE:

If desired, a laptop PC with Ethernet can usually be connected directly to the

Ethernet port on the Access Navigator using a “crossover” cable. See Make Ethernet
Cable (Optional)
