Set DS0 Signal

Purpose:

Specifies the signaling on the DS0 channel. The Access Navigator supports Direct
Inward Dial (DID), E&M, Ground Start, and Loop Start signaling. Figure 18-27 shows
the signaling used in common Access Navigator connections to switch and drop DS0s.
The signaling methods shown in this figure are typical and may differ from your
requirements.

NOTE:

The Access Navigator/GR-303 supports GR-303 Direct Inward Dial

(DID) circuit concentration on GR-303 interface groups to switches such as the
Lucent 5ESS. (Two-way DOD/DID is not supported.) If the switch does not
support GR-303 DID services, the DID circuits can be groomed to a DS1 going
to a DID shelf in the Central Office.

NOTE:

Direct Inward Dialing (DID) is supported by FXO cards in the Access

Bank II and Adit 600.

NOTE:

Access Bank II – default setting for FX cards provides automatic

translation of GS and LS signaling on the DS0. (The Option A, Option B, and
Option C DIP switches on each FX card are set to the OFF position.) E&M and
other signaling types can be used, but the DIP switches must be manually set
to the correct position. DIP switch settings affect all 12 FX lines on the FX card.

Security:
