Remote IP DS0 Provisioning Overview
This procedure covers remote management and provisioning of Carrier Access’ Adit® 600 TDM Customer
Service Terminals. The Adit 600 TDM provides six service card slots that support up to 18 T1s (DS1s) per
unit, up to 48 voice channels, or any combination of voice and data services.
The Access Navigator / GR-303 + Data Host and GR-303 Host with P-Phone can both serve as a host for
remote Adit 600 terminals, providing GR-303 voice concentration and data grooming.
There are two management configurations:
l IP DS0 Management – sends IP management commands over a DS0 channel in the drop DS1.
l FDL Management – sends CLI commands over the DS1’s ESF Facility Data Link (FDL). This FDL
management configuration does not support P-Phone service from the remote Adit 600. See Provision
Remote Adit 600 via FDL on
page 12-1 .
After configuring the IP DS0 management connection, the user can remotely provision the Adit 600 by
sending NetworkValet™ EMS IP commands or Adit CLI/Telnet commands over the IP DS0 management
channel.
