Connect Remote Interface
Purpose:
Connects the DS0s in a fractional interface to a remote Access Bank II voice or data
interface (FX, RS-232, T1 Drop, or V.35). This command uses only the name of the
fractional interface, which defines the DS0s being connected. Use the show
interface
command to display connections (see “Show Interface” on page 18-146).
NOTE:
Crossconnections between DS0s in the Access Navigator (connect
ds0
) must be made before adding a fractional interface (add interface) to
connect DS0s in the remote Access Bank II (connect interface). This is
necessary to prevent connections between incompatible DS0s, such as voice
and data.
The Access Bank II includes crossconnect switches for connecting DS0s between the
DS1 drop and the various Access Bank II remote interface ports. These connections are
made by using CLI commands to set up crossconnects between a fractional interface
and a remote interface.
When provisioning a remote Access Bank II, you must first use the add interface
command to create a fractional interface, specifying the interface name and the DS0s
to be used on the Access Navigator’s drop DS1 (see Add Interface on
).
Then use the connect interface command to connect the fractional interface
DS0s to the desired Access Bank II remote interface port. If the DS0s are currently
