Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

Status DS1 Performance

Status DS1 Performance

Displays current performance data for the specified DS1. The Access Navigator accumulates DS1
performance data for the parameters described in RFC 1406 – Definitions of Managed Objects for the
DS1 and E1 Interface Types
. All performance parameters are accumulated in fifteen minute intervals.
The “current” 15 minute interval shows data collected when the command is received, and always
represents an elapsed time of less than 15 minutes. At the end of each 15 minute interval, the Access
Navigator displays the total as the “previous” 15 minute interval and computes new totals for 1 hour and
1 day by summing previous intervals.

The clear ds1 performance command can be used to reset the performance data for a specific
DS1. When this is done, the timer for that DS1 will start at zero hours, minutes, and seconds. (See Clear
DS1 Performance
on

page 15-18

.)

The status performance message will include an asterisk (*) to mark error counts that exceed
the threshold values set by the Set DS1 Threshold on

page 18-115

. Exceeding a threshold can cause an

automatic alarm message to be sent to the network operations center.
