NetworkValet and Valet are element management systems with simple graphical user interfaces. Valet is
ideal for technicians deploying Access Navigators in carrier networks, while the full-featured NetworkValet
EMS is an enhanced management system with alarms and performance monitoring is intended for Network
Operations Centers (NOCs).
NetworkValet and Valet provide easy management of Carrier Access products including the Access
Navigator and Adit 600. Valet and NetworkValet are cross-platform Java applications that run on either
Microsoft Windows and Solaris based computer systems. Java Runtime Engine (JRE) software for
Windows or Solaris is included with the Valet and NetworkValet installation programs.
NetworkValet and Valet send commands over the carrier’s IP network to communicate with the SNMP
agent in the Access Navigator. The Access Navigator includes a standard 10Base-T Ethernet port for
connection to the hub or network interface, or laptop computer. The Access Navigator must have FLASH
software version 1.7 or higher to support IP DS0 management of remote Adit 600 terminals.
