NOTE:
This procedure provides steps for replacing one or both Controller cards by
physically removing the old card and installing a new card. In a redundant system, the
standby Controller card can be replaced without disrupting service. The new Controller
must be given two minutes to reboot and copy system settings from the old card. Then a
CLI command is used to switch the standby Controller to active mode, so the other card
(now in standby) can also be replaced.
NOTE:
Alarm and Log Events – During the replacement process, if two Controller
cards are installed with incompatible software, the Access Navigator will produce a minor
alarm and the event log will contain an entry stating that one of the Controllers is
Incompatible. This message is normal and can be ignored if the final installation provides
two Controller cards with identical or compatible software.
