Configuration Example
Network requirements
Assume the switch is configured to allow users to log in through Telnet, and the user level is set to the
administrator level (level 3). Perform the following configurations for users logging in through the
console port (AUX user interface).

Configure the local user name as guest.
z
Set the authentication password of the local user to 123456 (in plain text).
z
Set the service type of the local user to Terminal and the command level to 2.
z
Configure to authenticate the users in the scheme mode.
z
The baud rate of the console port is 19,200 bps.
z
The screen can contain up to 30 lines.
z
The history command buffer can store up to 20 commands.
z
The timeout time of the AUX user interface is 6 minutes.

Configuration procedure
# Enter system view.
# Create a local user named guest and enter local user view.
[Sysname] local-user guest
# Set the authentication password to 123456 (in plain text).
[Sysname-luser-guest] password simple 123456
# Set the service type to Terminal, Specify commands of level 2 are available to users logging in to the
AUX user interface.
[Sysname-luser-guest] service-type terminal level 2
[Sysname-luser-guest] quit
# Enter AUX user interface view.
[Sysname] user-interface aux 0
# Configure to authenticate users logging in through the console port in the scheme mode.
