Protective Trip and Warning Functions
Introduction
The purpose of this chapter is to provide detailed information regarding the
protective trip and warning functions of the E300Electronic Overload Relay.
The protective trip and warning functions are organized into five sections:
•
Current Based
•
Voltage Based
•
Power Based
•
Control Based
•
Analog Based
This chapter explains the trip and warning protection features of the E300
Electronic Overload Relay and the associated configuration parameters.
Current Based Protection
The E300 Electronic Overload Relay digitally monitors the electrical current
consumed by an electric motor. This electric current information is used for the
following protective trip and warning functions:
•
Overload Trip/Warning
•
Phase Loss Trip
•
Ground Fault Trip/Warning
•
Stall Trip
•
Jam Trip/Warning
•
Underload Trip/Warning
•
Current Imbalance Trip/Warning
•
Line Under Current Trip/Warning
•
Line Over Current Trip/Warning
•
Line Loss Trip/Warning
