Basic Keyframe Effect Tutorial
Basic Keyframe Effect Tutorial
Introduction
If you are new to keyframing, see Multiple Keyframes and Timelines on
page 96 for background information before you do this tutorial.
This tutorial is designed to be performed in its entirety. Exercise segments
are given descriptive names, but the starting point of each one must be the
end point of the previous segment. Dynamic effects will be performed. You
will want to watch the output monitor when you rewind and run the
effects.
Note Each E-MEM effect can hold a maximum of 64 keyframes.
Requirements and Scope
The Kalypso system must be running Release 4.0 or later software. This
tutorial is written for Pgm Pst, but can be done on any M/E as long as you
can see the program output of that M/E. The tutorial also specifies using a
specific register (95). You can substitute a different register if you wish.
Preparation
For this tutorial it is assumed that all Kalypso system configurations and
effects that may be needed in the future have already been saved to disk. If
this is not so, save them before beginning any of these tutorials. See Suite
and User Configuration
on page 368 .
It also assumes you have a general understanding of switcher operations
and are familiar with basic Kalypso system operation. If not, run through
the Fundamentals Tutorial
on page 367 before beginning any of this tutorial.
Clear the Kalypso System
If a cleared Kalypso system state has been saved to register 99, recall this
register. The cleared system has black selected on all buses, and each bank’s
Transition subpanel has
Bkgd and Mix selected. Otherwise, see page 377 to
clear the system to a known state.
Building and Running a Two Keyframe Effect
1. Press Sel All on the Master E-MEM subpanel until all the Enable buttons
are off. Then press the Pgm Pst button to enable only that level.
