Machine Control Operations
Machine Control with the Menu Panel
The External Device Control menu, accessed via Extern Device , Control can be
used for machine control ( Figure 181 ).

Standard Cue , Stop and Play controls are available for all devices configured
for control.
Additional Rewind , Fast Fwd , and Jog controls are available in the larger
control pane on the left. The Swap buttons transfer the control of devices
between panes.
Loading Clips
External devices are controlled using various protocols (BVW, Odetics,
AMP). These protocols have different capabilities, and specific models of
external devices may support only specific protocols. The exact clip loading
procedures, if available, will vary depending on the device model and pro-
tocol being employed.
In general, clips are loaded from the External Device Control menu by
touching the
Program Clip data pad in a machine control pane, and then
selecting the clip from the list displayed.
