Image Server Service
The Image Server service runs on an external PC to allow it to communicate
with the Still Store and allow you to add external image servers. This appli-
cation is included on the Kalypso Software CD-ROM. For information on
loading and configuring an image server, see Image Server Service
on
page 299 .
Still Store Cache
Images are captured, recorded, or loaded into the cache. New with V15.0,
once in cache a captured image can be played back directly from cache or
edited and then played back from cache, without being saved as in pre-
vious versions.
Cache memory is used to enable real-time loading and recording of stills
and clips. Input video is recorded to cache. An image must already have
been loaded into the cache in order to support real-time loading of that
image to an output. An entire clip must be loaded into cache in order to run
that clip.
