Root Port
The port with the open path to the root switch. If
this switch is root, the text Unit is root will be dis-
played.
Root Path Cost
Calculated cost to designated root switch.
Max Age
Used to detect that a STP/RSTP neighbor is down. Cur-
rent value learnt from BPDUs.
Hello Time
The time between two consecutive transmissions of
hello messages. Current value learnt from BPDUs.
Forward Delay
Used when operating in STP mode (i.e., not RSTP). De-
fines the time period by which the protocol can be sure
that STP information on a topology change has propa-
gated from one side of the network to the other. Cur-
rent value learnt from BPDUs.
Auto Refresh
Click on a value to make the page reload with updated
statistics automatically every 5, 15, 30 or 60 seconds.
Click Off to turn off auto refresh.
Refresh
Click on this button to reload with updated statistics.
Port Status
Label
Port label, identifying the port.
Type
Type of port, e.g. Eth for ethernet.
Path Cost
Path cost associated with the port.
State
FORWARDING
Unit forwards packets. Normal opera-
tion.
LEARNING
The port is preparing itself for entering
FORWARDING state.
BLOCKING
Unit does not forward any packets.
DISABLED
Port does not participate in operation.
Edge
If TRUE the port is in admin edge mode and assumes the
port leads to a host or a router (i.e., not another bridge),
and the port is therefore put in FORWARDING state with-
out first verifying that the LAN is loop free. If FRNT, the
port is controlled by FRNT protocol.
Designated Bridge
The designated bridge MAC-address.
