340 Section II: Advanced Operations
Enabling or Disabling Denial of Service Prevention
To configure DoS defense, perform the following procedure:
1. From the Main Menu, type 7 to select Security and Services.
The Security and Services menu is shown in Figure 103 on page 313.
2. From the Security and Services menu, type 3 to select Denial of
Service (DoS).
The Denial of Service (DoS) Menu is shown in Figure 113.

3. If you are implementing the SMURF or Land defense, you must
provide the IP address of a node connected to the switch and a subnet
mask. For the Land defense, you must also specify an uplink port. To
do this, complete the following steps. Otherwise, skip ahead to Step 4.
a. Type 1 to select Lan IP Subnet.
