Implementing this feature requires configuring the port mirroring feature as
follows:
ˆ Activate port mirroring.
ˆ Specify a destination port.
ˆ Do not specify any source ports. The source ports are defined by the
Denial of Service defense mechanism.

Observe these guidelines when using this feature:
ˆ A switch port can support more than one DoS defense at a time.
ˆ The Teardrop and the Ping of Death defenses are CPU intensive. Use
these defenses with caution.
