set cdp state
Use this command to enable or disable the CDP discovery protocol on one or more ports.
Syntax
set cdp state {auto | disable | enable} [port-string]
Parameters
Defaults
If port‐string is not specified, the CDP state will be globally set.
Mode
Switch command, read‐write.
Examples
This example shows how to globally enable CDP:
D2(su)->set cdp state enable
This example shows how to enable the CDP for port fe.1.2:
D2(su)->set cdp state enable fe .1.2
This example shows how to disable the CDP for port fe.1.2:
D2(su)->set cdp state disable fe .1.2
CDP Authentication
Code Authentication code for CDP discovery protocol. The default of 00-00-00-00-00-00-
00-00 can be reset using the set cdp auth command. For details, refer to “
set cdp
auth ” on page 5-4.
CDP Transmit
Frequency Frequency (in seconds) at which CDP messages can be transmitted. The default of
60 seconds can be reset with the set cdp interval command. For details, refer to “
set
cdp interval ” on page 5-4.
Port Port designation. For a detailed description of possible port-string values, refer to
“
Port String Syntax Used in the CLI ” on page 6-1.
Status Whether CDP is enabled, disabled or auto-enabled on the port.

enable Auto‐enables, disables or enables the CDP protocol on the specified port(s).
In auto‐enable mode, which is the default mode for all ports, a port
automatically becomes CDP‐enabled upon receiving its first CDP message.
