Use this command to set the severity level of log messages for one or all applications.

Syntax

set logging application {[mnemonic | all]} [level level]

Output Field

What it displays...

Application

A mnemonic abbreviation of the textual description for
applications being logged.

Current Severity Level

Severity level at which the server is logging messages for the
listed application. This range (from 1 to 8) and its associated
severity list is shown in the CLI output. For a description of these
entries, which are set using the set logging application
command, refer to “

set logging application

” on page 14-7.

mnemonic

pecifies a case sensitive mnemonic abbreviation of an application to be 
logged. This parameter will vary depending on the number and types of 
applications running on your system. To display a complete list, use the 
show logging application command as described in 

show logging 

application

” on page 14‐6. Sample mnemonics and their corresponding 

applications are listed in 

Table 14‐34 

on page 14‐8.

Note: Mnemonic values are case sensitive and must be typed as they appear in

Table 14-34.
