Chapter 7 Applying Effects — [Effect] Palette

For alpha channel non-compatible effects, the “!” icon is displayed on the [Effect] and [Information] palettes.
Applying with Drag-and-drop
This operation is also available in the same way in the effect view. Here, the video filter is used here to explain how to apply a filter.
Transition and key can be applied in the same way.
Example:
When selecting from [VideoFilters]

In the folder view of the [Effect] palette, click the [VideoFilters] tree and display the effects.

Drag and drop the effect to apply onto a clip on the timeline.

Right-drag and drop the effect to select [Add]/[Replace]. Select [Replace] to delete the applied effects and apply only the selected effect.

When applying a transition or audio cross fade by dragging them using the right button of the mouse, you can select [Custom] and control
the placement.

This operation is also available in the same way in the effect view.

When selecting from [Video Filter]

Select a clip on the timeline.
2)
In the folder view of the [Effect] palette, click the [VideoFilters] tree and display the effects.

Right-click the effect to apply and click [Add to Timeline].

For some effects, you can specify [In], [Out], and [Both].

Select a clip or a mixer on the timeline, select an effect in the [Effect] palette, and click [Add to Timeline] in the effect view. For some
effects, you can click the [Add to Timeline] list button to specify [In], [Out], and [Both].

Select a clip or mixer on the timeline, and drag an effect from the [Effect] palette and drop it onto the [Information] palette. Some effects
cannot be applied.
