Go To Item Number

Stills and clips can be quickly accessed by their number.

1.

Touch the

Go To

button on the Playback or Create Edit Still Store menu.

A numeric keypad will be displayed.

2.

Type in the number of the desired item and touch

Enter

. Leading zeros

may be omitted.

3.

If an item with that number exists, the selection pane will scroll to
display that item on the top line. If that item number does not exist, the
item with the next higher number will be brought to the top line.

4.

With the item visible on the screen, you can now select it by touching
its icon.

Clip and Still Caching

Loading a clip or still will automatically cache it, if necessary. However,
you will want to be sure all the material you need for a show is cached in
advance, to permit immediate access to the material. Material can be
cached in a variety of ways:

Load the item to a Still Store Preset or Program output using the Still
Store menu (see

page 433

).

Load the item to a Still Store output using the Machine Control sub-
panel (see

page 435

).

If you created E-MEMs specifying Still Store material, recall and run
these E-MEMs before the show (see

page 437

). An effect may not run

correctly the first time if the Still Store material was not cached, but
running the E-MEM in advance initiates cache operations that will
make the material instantly available later.

Note

When the cache is full, loading new material will cause existing cached mate-
rial to be overwritten. Generally the oldest material cached will be the first
material overwritten.

When an output channel is involved in a disk file transfer that channel is
not available for use, and only one disk file transfer is supported at a time.
The other Still Store output channels remain available during a transfer,
however, and can be used to access and display any currently cached mate-
rial.

Once material is cached, it remains available even if the current folder is
changed (the items will be shaded). Once an item originating from a dif-
ferent folder becomes uncached, however, it becomes inaccessible until the
folder in which that item resides is accessed again.
