Section 4 — Menus Overview
The scrolling pane below has buttons for all the clips residing on the
selected device. Touching a clip button selects that clip. The action (if any)
performed when a clip is selected is determined by the status of the List
Edit and Event List panes on the right.
The buttons in the Clip Browser are arranged in alphabetical order,
including the path. Clip “Apple” will be listed above clip “Zebra” if they
are stored in the same DDR folder. The paths for clips are not displayed on
the buttons, but will affect the order of the clips in the Clip Browser. If some
clips are stored in a News8 folder, and others are stored in a News10 folder,
the clips in the News10 folder will appear above those in the News8 folder
(1 precedes 8).
List Edit
The buttons in this pane select what action will be performed when a clip
is selected in the Clip Browser, and are also used to edit the order of clips
in the Event List on the right, and to save, load, and unload Event Lists. The
event list editor is designed for speed, using modal operation. Buttons are
pressed to set a mode, allowing the subsequent rapid entry of multiple
commands.
When the indicator for the
Replace
button is illuminated, the next clips
selected in the browser will replace the currently selected clip in the Event
List on the right.
When the indicator for the
Insert Before
button is illuminated, the next clips
selected in the browser will be inserted before the currently selected clip in
the Event List on the right.
When the indicator for the
Insert After
button is illuminated, the next clips
selected in the browser will be inserted after the currently selected clip in
the Event List on the right.
The
Undo
button reverses the last Event List action performed. After it has
been used it is no longer available and is grayed out.
The
Delete
button deletes the currently selected clip from the Event List.
This only removes the clip from the list, and does not delete the clip itself
from the DDR.
The
Cut
button removes the currently selected clip from the Event List and
places it in a clipboard.
The
Paste
button pastes the contents of the clipboard into the location cur-
rently selected in the Event List.
The
Move Up
and
Move Down
buttons moves the clip selected in the Event List
up or down one location. When at the beginning or end of the, only one of
these buttons will be active.
