Section 5 — System Operation
To preview an existing video/key pair Still Store image or clip so you can
inspect its keying quality, load the item to a paired Still Store output, select
that Still Store output source on an M/E’s keyer bus, and set up a key on
that M/E. The Still Store should be keyed over a known background (like
a matte) so you can clearly determine what part of the keyed image origi-
nates from the Still Store.
Images Not Yet Saved
When you select
Show Input
on the Still Store Create Edit menu, the Still
Store temporarily passes the source input of that Still Store to its output.
When a Still Store output is paired and a video/key input source is
selected, selecting
Include Key
will also pass the separate key signal of that
source to the paired Still Store output. The incoming Still Store source
material can then be previewed using the methods described above.
When a still is grabbed or a clip is recorded, the result of the capture is dis-
played on that Still Store output. A clip can be rewound and played to
ensure it was recorded correctly.
When previewing an unsaved image, if you delegate a different Still Store
output, the unsaved image will be discarded.
