Section 4 — Menus Overview
Wipe Menus
The Wipe menus allow selection and modification of wipe patterns for
each of the full-function M/Es. The Wipe menus, like the Keyer menus,
have a delegation area at upper left, which in this case contains pattern
touch pads for every wipe pattern generator point of use. The currently
selected shape is displayed on these touch pads. The
Wipe button in the
Transition subpanel for each M/E is a DPOP button (double-pressing it
brings up the Wipe menu).
Point of Use Menu
Selecting the Wipe button in the Home menu will bring up the Wipes –
Point of Use menu ( Figure 243 ). This menu displays a Point of Use param-
eter area on the right. A point of use is the location where a wipe pattern
will be used, corresponding to one of the keyers or background transitions.
The controls in the Point of Use pane affect each point of use of that wipe
pattern separately. This allows applying different settings to the same
pattern used at different places in the system.
The controls in the other panes in this menu affect the pattern generator
itself. Pattern generator adjustments will affect all points of use employing
that generator's pattern. The upper left delegation area identifies the gen-
erator connected to each point of use in gold text as well as the pattern
selected on that generator.
