Preview Subpanel

The Zodiak preview system consists of one preview output from each
M/E, two preview outputs from PGM and PST (Preview A and Preview B),
and a switched preview. Preview A and B show a DSK preview for PGM
A and B respectively.

The Preview subpanel (

Figure 76

) gives the operator a way to view the

preview outputs on the Zodiak system’s dedicated switched preview
output BNCs. The switched preview output from the switcher can be used
by the operator to preview sources, keys, and effects during production,
and for setting up the switcher before a session.

Selecting the

PVW Primary

or one of the

M/E 1-3

buttons or the

PGM A

or

PGM B

button will send the preview (not program) output signal of that bus to the
Zodiak system’s switched preview output. Only one button can be selected
at a time on this subpanel. The currently selected button will be high tally.

Primary Signal Selection

To view a preview primary source, select the

PVW

button on the PVW/AUX

Bus Delegate subpanel (see Bus Delegation

on page 107

). Select the

PVW Primary

button in the Preview subpanel. This routes the preview source

selection on the PVW/AUX bus to the switched preview output.

When the

PVW

button is selected on the PVW/Aux Bus Delegate subpanel

and the

PVW Primary

button is selected on the Preview subpanel, the selected

primary crosspoint will high tally indicating the source is the output to the
switched preview bus. Selecting another preview button in the Preview
subpanel will cause the PVW/AUX primary source to low tally indicating
it is no longer the active output to switched preview.
