Still Store Operations
Shaped and Unshaped Still Store Video
The Still Store automatically adjusts for shaped and unshaped video (as
specified by the source definition for the captured source), and the cap-
tured video will be processed as such all the way through to the final
Zodiak system output. For example, suppose paired Still Store output 1-2
is keyed on an M/E. If a still that was captured as a shaped video/key pair
is selected on that Still Store output, the M/E will automatically use shaped
key processing. If a different still that was captured from an unshaped
video/key pair source is selected on that Still Store output, the M/E will
immediately switch to unshaped key processing. Shaping information is
included in the metadata for each Still Store item.
Still Store Configuration
Zodiak Still Store outputs are internal sources. They are managed the same
as standard external Zodiak sources, like cameras and VTRs, except Still
Store outputs do not appear in the Eng Setup-Define Sources menu. They
are available on the Eng Setup-Outputs menu, and so can be assigned to
any output connector, and are also available on the Daily Setups-User
Prefs-Button Mapping menu. Once a Still Store output has been mapped to
a source selection button that Still Store source can be selected for use on
that bus.
Preview and Capture
During image capture, a Still Store output temporarily displays its input.
The input can be previewed the same as any other Zodiak source, by
selecting a Still Store video only source directly on a M/E output, or by
selecting a Still Store video/key pair source and setting up a key on a M/E.
Change Directory Restriction
While a Still Store file is being saved you cannot change the Still Store direc-
tory. This restriction prevents the possibility of corrupting a file during a
save.
Still Store Operation
General Operation
In general, the Still Store feature is operated by selecting a source, grabbing
a still or recording a clip, saving the captured image to a folder, then
loading the image from that folder to a Still Store output. The Still Store
menus can be used to select stills and play clips.
