2.5-M/E and 3-M/E Main Panel

The Zodiak 2.5 and 3-M/E Main panel is designed as an intuitive, full-fea-
tured production system. Both panels are very similar, differing only in
appearance by the presence of additional key caps in the 3-M/E system.

Sources are selected in the three M/E blocks on the left side of the panel
(M/E 1, 2, and PGM PST or M/E 3). Transition, keying, and individual
E-MEM control selections are made on the middle right. Delegated con-
trols for various M/E modifiers are at the upper right. DSK, Fade to Black,
Keyframe Edit, Master E-MEM and Transform controls reside on the lower
right (

Source Selection

Sources are selected on the M/E or PGM/PST A, B and Key buses. Each
M/E block has three rows of interlocked buttons, one row for key source
selection (delegated between keyers, the Utility bus and a Macro function)
and two rows for background source selection. Each row contains 23
source buttons and a

Shift button

(Crosspoint 24) and has re-entry buttons

from the other M/Es (

Figure 70

and

Figure 71 on page 105

).

Only one source at a time can be selected for each bus on the row of inter-
locked buttons. The left source will be selected if more than one button on
a row is pressed simultaneously.
