Still Store Menus
Only the Zodiak Frame User directory, or a folder within that directory,
can be set as the Still Store working directory. The button will be grayed
out if an invalid directory has been selected.
After a Still Store working directory change, if items from the previous
folder have been cached, those items will continue be displayed on the list
(they will be shaded) and they remain available for use.
Note
Avoid changing the working directory unnecessarily. Still Store material may
become inaccessible or the wrong material may be loaded if items with the
same names reside in different folders. Also, if you switch back and forth
between folders, cached items that have been shaded remain so, even if their
files actually reside in the current folder.
Change Directory Restriction
While a Still Store file is being saved you cannot change the Still Store direc-
tory from the menu, or by using an E-MEM or Macro. This restriction pre-
vents the possibility of corrupting a file during a save. We recommend you
save stills and animations of different formats in different directories.
Still Store File Operations
The Still Store File Operations menu accesses the Zodiak Frame HD User
directory, the Menu HD (C:) Zodiak User directory, and all mapped drives,
including the Zip drive (typically D:), CD ROM (typically E:), and, if
present, Floppy drive (A:).
The
Up
,
Top
, and
Open
, navigation controls operate the same as the other
Zodiak browsers, to access different directories.
Selecting a still, animation, or folder in a directory activates the
Copy
,
Delete
,
Create Folde
r,
Rename
, and
Multi-select
functions. These operate the same as
they do in other File Operations menus, but certain important consider-
ations apply.
Note
Still Store File Copying - Still Store files have three components (image,
meta, and thumbnail bitmap). Be sure to copy all three files to the new loca-
tion.
CAUTION Still Store File Renaming - Do not rename Still Store files. Still Store files
must have valid names to be recognized by the system.
CAUTION Still Store Folder Renaming and Deleting - Use care if you delete or rename
folders. Some folders (like Still Store/User/DEFAULT) should be present in
their original location and retain their original names for proper system oper-
ation. Only delete or rename folders you are familiar with and know are safe
to modify.
