Engineering source selection is also possible using a source picker.
Touching an Engineering Source data pad in the Logical source selection
pane brings up a scrolling Engineering source picker (

Figure 110

).

Touching an Engineering source button associates that source to the cur-
rently selected Logical source. You can also select

No Source

, in which case

the system substitutes black whenever that Logical source is selected.

It is possible to associate the same Engineering source to many different
Logical sources. In this case selecting either Logical source on a panel
selects the same Engineering source.

Internal sources (M/E outputs, Still Store outputs, etc.) can be named in the
Source Patch menu but can not be remapped. This permits defining custom
names to avoid confusion between internal Zodiak source names and pre-
existing external source names already used in a facility.

Using Source Patching for Effects Portability

Source patching makes it possible to built effects on a Zodiak system in one
facility or truck, and then use those effects on a different Zodiak system at
another facility that has different Engineering source configurations.
Building a Source Patch table prior to effects creation simplifies the migra-
tion of effects between facilities.
