Keyer Menus

Keyer Menus

The key type, key mode, and clip adjustments for any of the M/E or DSK
keyers can be made from the Main panel using the M/E and DSK Keyers
subpanels (see M/E Keyer Subpanels

on page 116

and DSK Keyer Subpanel

on

page 121

). These controls are on the Main panel for immediate access. How-

ever, some key adjustment for detail, such as opacity and mask controls,
are accessible from the corresponding Keyer menu. The Keyer subpanels
and the corresponding menus will reflect and track the changes made by
either set of controls.

The Keyer menu controls are organized into several subcategories, each
with different menu selection based on the type of key. These menus are
accessed by touching the

Keyer

button, then the category is chosen from the

Mode

,

Priority

or

Mask

buttons at the bottom of the menu (

Figure 236 on

page 336

.

Mode Menu

The Mode menu allows you to view or select the type of key for any of the
four keyers in each M/E or the three DSK keyers from the Menu panel.
(Note that not all M/E key functionality is present in the DSK keyers).
Touching the

Mode

subcategory button brings up the Keyer Mode menu.

Touch the keyer data pad in the M/E you wish to select, then select the

Mode

from one the selections described below. The mode may also be

selected in the corresponding Keyer subpanel on the Main panel.

Key modes are selectable from the following choices:

Fixed Linear

Adjustable Linear

Luminance Key

Chroma Key

Preset Pattern

Fixed Linear

When Fixed Linear key mode is selected, the typical linear key (see Linear
Key

on page 56

) can be adjusted for opacity with the Opacity soft knob on

the right of the menu screen. The Fixed Linear controls are similar to

Figure 236 on page 336

. However, Clip and Gain controls are not active for

this mode. The keyer uses Clip and Gain or (Clip Hi and Clip Lo) from the
data entered in the Eng Setups – Sources menu. The Keyer Mode selections
(

Matte Fill

,

Video Key

,

Force Shaped

and

Invert

) can be selected in the menu or

will follow the selections made in the Keyers subpanel on the Main panel.
