Overview

A new ESI 'acme-iptv' is created for the incoming SVLAN (at VLAN ID = 100). This is assigned to a
BVLAN (VLAN ID = 400) under ESI 'iptv_carrier' by first mapping it to ISID 10300 under ESI
'iptv_service'.

Provider Backbone Bridging (PBB) functionality
IEEE 802.1ah configurations
The PBB protocol performs IEEE 802.1ah encapsulation on packets that arrive from PB network
and are SVLAN-tagged so core carrier switches don't need to learn customer MAC addresses.
Two types of architectures are possible for providing connectivity to PBB networks.
Sequential steps for a IEEE 802.1ah configuration CLI example are shown below.
Define interface types
First step in setting up a PB network configuration is to set interface type properly. Interface type
has to match the encapsulation type of the VLAN expected on the interface.
By default, interfaces are of type 'customer-edge' so there is no need to define an interface type for
CVLAN ESIs.
1. Set 1/12 and 1/13 to 'backbone-edge' (SVLAN).
Brocade(config)# interface ethernet 1/12
Brocade(config-if-e10000-1/10)# port-type backbone-edge
Brocade(config-if-e10000-1/10)# exit
2. Configure port 1/14 to be of 'backbone-network' type.
Brocade(config)# interface ethernet 1/14
Brocade(config-if-e10000-1/10)# port-type backbone-network
Brocade(config-if-e10000-1/10)# exit
