With the Add Vertex tool selected, the Draw Path cursor changes as illus-
trated in
Figure 638 with a + symbol on the cursor.

To add a vertex, click at the point on the path at which you wish to add a
new vertex.
Add Vertex with Control Point
To add a vertex with a control point, drag the cursor to the end location. The
end vertex will have a control point.
If a vertex is added between two existing vertices, the new vertex becomes
an end point for one path and a beginning point for another path and has a
control point as depicted in
Figure 639 . The line running through and
beyond the vertex is the control point indicator.
