Background Jobs
Alternative Method:
Navigate to the desired folder in Windows Explorer and drag and drop the
folder into the clip view or a folder in the Asset Bin folder view.
Background Jobs
Background jobs are processes that run in the background while other
EDIUS NEO functions continue uninterrupted.
Note
Playback of Timeline clips may suspend background job processing
depending upon system settings.
Background jobs are categorized as User jobs or System jobs
User Jobs
The following user-initiated actions may result in the creation of back-
ground jobs:
•
Importing clips from audio CDs and DVDs
•
Importing clips from removable media
System Jobs
The following are categorized as System jobs:
•
Creating seek information files
•
Generating audio waveform cache files
When user-initiated background jobs are executing, the Timeline notifica-
tion area will indicate the number of background processes in the back-
ground jobs list as illustrated in
Figure 165. Background Jobs Indicator in Notification Area with Tooltip Text
To see the list of jobs in the Background Job dialog, do one of the following:

Click the
Show Background Job
button (highlighted in blue in
in the Source Browser
•
Select View>Background Job from the Preview window menu bar.
