Section 3 — Importing and Capturing
Open Ended Capture
Begin capture without setting an In point, Out point or capture duration. In
this case, capture will need to be stopped manually.
In/Out Capture
Set the In and Out points for the material to be captured and start the cap-
ture. Capture stops automatically at the Out point.
In/Dur Capture
Set the In point and the duration and begin capture. Capture stops auto-
matically after the specified duration.
In Capture
Set the In point and begin capture. In this case, capture must be stopped
manually.
Out Capture
Set Out point and begin capture. Capture stops automatically at the Out
point.
Dur Capture
Set duration and begin capture. Capture will end automatically after the
specified duration.
Note Only In/Out and In/Dur capture are supported in batch capture mode. For
more information on batch capture see Batch Capture
on page 204 .
Capturing from a DV or HDV Device
To capture source material from a DV or HDV device, do the following:
1. Select Capture>Select Input Device from the Preview window menu
bar.
The Select Input Device dialog in Figure 173 appears.
