In and Out Points
Setting In/Out Points and Placing a Clip
To set In/Out point on a clip and place it on the Timeline at the Timeline In
point, do the following:
1.
Select the desired clip in the Asset Bin and click the
Show in Player
button

In the Player, set the desired In and Out points for the clip. See Setting
In/Out Points and Duration
for more information.
3.
Move the Timeline cursor to the position at which you wish to place the
clip on the target tracks.
4.
Depending on the mode in which you wish to insert the clip, click the
Insert to Timeline
or
Overwrite to Timeline
button in the Player.
The clip is placed on the Timeline target tracks with the position of the
Timeline cursor as the In point.
Alternative Methods:
•
After setting clip In and Out points in the Player, drag and drop the clip
on the Timeline.
•
After setting clip In and Out points in the Player, press the [
E
] key to
place the clip on the Timeline.
In and Out Points
When working with clips on the Timeline, it is often desirable to set In and
Out points in order to use only a portion of the clip or to limit the range over
which certain operations are executed.
