Using input fields at runtime
At runtime, operators can use input fields to retrieve data from and
send data to the value table so it can be accessed by the programmable
controller, external OPC server or DDE device, or by RSView32
memory.
In this field
Do this
Tag Name
Specify a tag name or a placeholder for a string
tag. For details about placeholders, see “Using
tag placeholders” on page 11-37.
Index
Either leave the default as it is or type a number
other than the default. Index numbers
determine the tab sequence for interactive
objects such as input objects and buttons, and
are also used in recipe files. For details, see
“Using index numbers” on page 12-45.
Default Data Type the text that will appear in the string input
field when the graphic is initially displayed.
Continuously
Update
Check this box to have tag value changes appear
in the field when the operator is not using the
field to input data.
Dimensions
Type a value to specify the maximum number of
characters that will be displayed in this field. Be
sure the field is long enough to accommodate
the string for the tag.
Justification
Select Left, Center, or Right to specify how the
values will be aligned within the field.
