Four variants of ARTM-831X are actually defined. They share the common base unit PCA while
the different TDM (PDH - SDH/Sonet) options are realized via the respective mezzanine
module PCA's.
1.2 Features
ARTM-831X is a high performance AdvancedTCA Rear Transition Module, designed according
to PICMG 3.0 Revision 1.0 Advanced TCA Base Specification. ARTM-831X attaches directly to
the ATCA-8310.
The following are the main features of the RTM:
 Single slot RTM form factor (70mm x 322mm) with stacked PCB expansion
 Module Management according IPMI specification 2.0
 Supports APS for Sonet Signals (ESSI)

ARTM-831X Variant Description
ARTM-831x-IP Based on the ARTM-831X_base PCA, provides IP only connectivity
and synchronous Ethernet.
ARTM-831x-DS1x Stacked PCA assembly, using the ARTM-831X_base and the ARTM-
831X_E1/T1 unit. It provides up to 48 E1/T1 ports, the TSI unit and
clock synchronization features
ARTM-831x-DS1DS3 Stacked PCA assembly, using the ARTM-831X_base and the ARTM-
831X_DS3/OC3, configured for T3/E3/DS3 I/O connectivity.
ARTM-831x-DS1OC3 Stacked PCA assembly, using the ARTM-831X_base and the ARTM-
831X_DS3/OC3, configured OC3 I/O connectivity.
